Chesapeake Green 2013           --This event has now passed--

Thank you for joining us for Chesapeake Green 2013 - our 10th annual Maryland Green Industry Symposium. The event was a great success and we look forward to next year. This site will stay up until December of 2013 when we will change it over for Chesapeake Green 2014, which will be held on the 20th & 21st of February, 2014.

Robert Hendrickson, The Garden Center Group, will offer the keynote session on February 14th.  Robert is a nationally known speaker.  His session, "Grow! Get! Go!" provides an opportunity for self-discovery as he identifies and discusses the actions required for any company to grow, get, and go.

When the individual break-out sessions finish, all attendees will participate in a plenary wrap-up session delivered by Dr. Mary Guy Miller.  Dr. Miller's session will focus on the hot topic - Social Media - the Ins and Outs, Do's and Don'ts for getting on board with this widely-used marketing tool.

In addition to our keynote and plenary wrap-up sessions, Day 1, February 14th, will consist of general education along four specific tracks, including nursery grower, retail garden center, landscape contractor, and greenhouse grower.  Pesticide recertification and nutrient management classes will be offered on Day 2 of the conference, February 15th.

Pesticide recertification credits have been applied for in the following states: DE, MD, PA, VA, and WV.  Participation in the meeting on February 15th may satisfy the  recertification training requirements of 8 credits for applicators certified in Category(ies) 2, 3A, 3B, 3C, 5, 6, and 10 (Forest, Ornamental Plant - Exterior, Ornamental Plant - Interior, Aquatic, Right of Way, Weed and Demonstration and Research) and the full recertification training requirements of 4 credits for those individuals certified as private applicators.  Attendees are offered opportunities to attain credits in both pesticide recertification and nutrient management.

Hotel reservations may be made at the conference facility, the Maritime Institute and Conference Center. Please visit the Directions and Lodging page, accessed via the links on the left of this page, for more details.

Our program/registration brochure may be accessed from the links to the left, too.  Pre-registration is now closed, but registrations will continue on-site.

Return to this site periodically, as updates to our sponsors and speakers continue to be made.  As we get closer to the event dates we should have posted speaker session handouts, to the extent that they have been made available to us.
